Festival of Shadows

Ahgram, Florendyl — Story in words and pictures: Myrr Thistletail reports from the Palace of Aghram, May 12, 2007

Arriving at the festival. So many longl... elves talking in low voices. It was just a bit chilling.

Though I tried to observe in the background while waiting for my brother Quir and Yal, the elves spotted me. Some were friendly...

Finally they arrived. Some of the elves were actually talking about making pets out of us! We pretended not to hear.

As the evening continued, the bards made themselves ready for the show. People started drifting over there.

And the show began. It was an absolutely superb performance. Naturally, I took lots of notes.

Tsol and Gileana, two of the best bards in the realm entertained with many an instrument and song.

Alas, the Raki delegation (that's us), had to leave for urgent Order related business. Meanwhile, I found out later, there were games of chance...

...and the game of riddles. I arrived just in time to see the end of it.

I had even prepared a song called "Sand". They allowed me to sing it. A cappella. I was so nervous!

We deny any allegations that Raki News would ever publish doctored images. This is a fair and balanced report of how the ending scene should have looked.

Then, the storytelling began. There were stories of very varying kinds, from piscine-and-heated-bread related to exciting hunting stories and dark poems.
At this time, this gnomish device I was using for taking pictures stopped working. We naturally see this as an act of hostility from the gnomes and will ensure that appropriate action is taken.

The final event was the solemn and somewhat eerie offering of secrets to the goddess Kaerullun. She now knows one of my deepest secrets.

And you don't!

This concludes the report of the Festival of Shadows. Myrr Thistletail signing out!
